Itinerary

Day 1;

Arrival into Kigali International Airport. Meet & Greet Services, followed by transfer to your Kigali hotel, for check-in.Lunch and dinner on own account. Overnight on Bed & Breakfast basis

Day 2;

Morning, brief visit of Kigali Genocide Memorial Museum. Then, depart and head south – destined for Nyungwe Forest National Park. 260km, 5.0hrs. En route, stop-over visits of Rwanda’s Historic Towns – Nyanza & Butare. Lunch at Butare Town. Arrival at your Nyungwe hotel in the late afternoon. Overnight on Full-board basis

Day 3;

Morning, Chimpanzee Trek, followed by freshening up and lunch. Afternoon, Canopy Adventure Hike – metal bridge 160metres long and 90metres high, suspended across a forest gorge, giving one a bird’s eye view of the forest canopy and distant hills. Overnight on Full-board basis

Day 4;

Morning, optional activity, such as: Colobus Monkeys Trek or Watefalls Hike. Mid-morning, depart Nyungwe Forest region and drive to central Lake Kivu, for lunch. 130km, 2.0hrs Afternoon, drive north and then east – to the Volcanoes Mountains for overnight. 250km, 3.0hrs Overnight on Full-board basis

Day 5;

Morning, enjoy your Rwanda Gorilla Trek adventure.
• Trekking can take from two to six or more hours if the gorillas move before the park rangers locate them the next morning; Afternoon, relax at the lodge – as you re-live the fresh memories of the close encounter with the gorillas; Or, optional activity, such as: Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village (Gorillas Guardians) – for some insights into the transformed lifestyle of these families of former gorilla poachers. Overnight on Full-board basis

Day 6;

Morning, enjoy either:
• 02nd Gorilla Trek – in which case you visit a different gorilla family; Or,
• Golden Monkeys Trek – trekking the only other member of the primate species residing in the volcanoes forest. After the trek, freshen up and lunch at the lodge, followed by check-out. On your way back to Kigali, make a brief stop-over visit of the Dian Fossey Museum & Foundation, in Musanze town. Then, bid farewell to the Volcanoes Mountains region, and drive back to Kigali for overnight. Overnight on Bed & Breakfast basis

Day 7;

Morning, orientation tour of Kigali City, including a visit of Genocide Memorial Museum & Other Highlights. Lunch at the Hotel Mille Collines – featured in the film “Hotel Rwanda”, regarding the 1994 Rwanda Genocide Against the Tutsis. Afternoon, drive east of the country – to the Akagera National Park, for overnight. 150km, 2.5hrs Overnight on Full-board basis

Day 8;

Enjoy a full day of game-viewing in the park, with picnic lunch. Late afternoon, drive back to your lodge, for overnight. Optional Activities: (provided by park management) . Sunset Boat Ride (4.30-5.30pm) & Night Game Drive (from 5.30pm, 2.5hrs) Overnight on Full-board basis

Day 9;

Morning at leisure in Akagera National Park, with opportunity for optional activity, such as morning game-drive or boat ride. Lunch at the lodge, followed by check-out. Afternoon, drive back to Kigali – with onward transfer to the Kigali International Airport, for your evening outbound flight.
